Production:
Acetic acid is produced naturally by certain bacteria, such as Acetobacter and Clostridium acetobutylicum. These bacteria are found in food, water, and soil. It is also produced naturally when fruits and other foods decay.
Industrially, Ethanoic Acid is produced synthetically and through bacterial fermentation. Approximately 75% of acetic acid used in the chemical industry is produced through the carbonylation of methanol. Biological production accounts for only 10% of global production but is crucial for vinegar production, as many food purity regulations require vinegar used in food to be derived from biological sources.
Most Ethanoic Acid is produced through the carbonylation of methanol, where methanol and carbon monoxide react to form acetic acid.
Package: In 25KG/220KG drum or 1000KG IBC drum.
Storage: Pack in aluminum or plastic drums and keep the containers airtight. Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse, away from fire and heat. In winter, the temperature of the reservoir should be kept above 16℃ to prevent solidification. It should be stored separately from oxidants and alkalis, and should not be mixed. Explosion-proof lighting and ventilation facilities are adopted. Do not use mechanical equipment and tools that are prone to spark. The storage area should be equipped with leak emergency treatment equipment and suitable containment materials.
Health and safety:
Prolonged inhalation exposure (eight hours) to acetic acid vapours at 10 ppm can produce some irritation of eyes, nose, and throat; at 100 ppm marked lung irritation and possible damage to lungs, eyes, and skin may result. Vapour concentrations of 1,000 ppm cause marked irritation of eyes, nose and upper respiratory tract and cannot be tolerated.
About Us: With over many years as a certified Acetic Acid manufacturer, we combine innovation with stringent production standards to deliver high-performance product.
What are other terms for Phenol Formaldehyde Resin?
Acetic acid isn’t the only name used to describe this synthetic polymer. Other names include Ethanoic acid, methanecarboxylic acid, Glacial Acetic Acid (Concentrated acetic acid /anhydrous acetic acid / pure acetic acid), ethylic acid and Hydrogen acetate. Commercially, it’s sometimes referred to by trade names such as glacial acetic acid fisher, acetic acid merck, acetic acid sigma aldrich.

Ethanoic Acid Applications
- It is a key raw material in the production of vinyl acetate monomer (VAM), acetic anhydride, and acetate esters. It also serves as a reaction accelerator in the production of purified terephthalic acid (PTA), which in turn is used to make polyethylene terephthalate (PET). PET is used in synthetic fibers, beverages, foods, and plastic bottles.
- It is also used in food sauces, pharmaceuticals, and as an etchant in electronics manufacturing, as well as in various other industrial processes.
- It is also used in oil and gas applications as an iron removal and scale inhibitor, and as an acidizing agent in well stimulation to improve flow properties.
We offer competitive Acetic Acid price, and exclusive discounts for large quantities, helping you effectively reduce procurement costs.
