Benzotriazole Description
Name: Benzotriazole (BTA)
Synonyms: Benzene azimide / Azimidobenzene / 1H-Benzotriazole / 1,2,3-Benzotriazole

Appearance: White to yellowish-brown crystals or white powder
Solubility: Soluble in ethanol, benzene, toluene, chloroform and dimethylformamide, slightly soluble in cold water. Insoluble in petroleum system solvents.
Properties: Benzotriazole is white or light yellow needle-shaped crystallite. Its melting point is 98.5℃. And the boiling point is 204℃ (15mm mercury column). This benzotriazole is slightly soluble in water, and organic solvents, such as alcohol, benzene, toluene, and chloroform.

Storage:
1.Keep in a cool, dry place. Ensure good ventilation in the workplace. Store tightly. Keep away from fire and store away from oxidants.
2.Lined with plastic bags, external wooden bucket packaging, can also be put into glass bottles. Each bottle is 500g,20 bottles to a wooden box. Box marked “avoid light” and “sealed”. Moisture-proof, sun-proof, heat insulation during storage and transportation, keep dry and well ventilated.

BTA Applications
1. As a corrosion inhibitor, Benzotriazole decreases the corrosion rate of metals and alloys. This works by forming a coating, a passivation layer, which prevents access of the corrosive substance to the metal or alloy underneath. This is of particular importance in industries where fluids routinely need to be in continuous contact with metals that require protection.
