Ethanolamine Description
NAME: Ethanolamine (ETA)
Synonyms: 2-Aminoethanol / Monoethanolamine (MEA) / Ethylolamine / Colamine / 2-Hydroxyethylamine / Olamine / Glycinol
Molecular Formula: C2H7NO
Chemical Structure: A two-carbon chain with a hydroxyl group (an alcohol) attached to one carbon and an amino group (an amine) attached to the other.

Molecular Weight: 61.08
CAS NO.: 141-43-5
Density: 1.0±0.1 g/cm3
Boiling point: 170.9±0.0 °C at 760 mmHg
Melting point: 10-11 °C(lit.)
Flashing point: 93.3±0.0 °C
Appearance: Transparent liquid
Solubility: miscible
Properties: It is a colorless, transparent, viscous liquid at room temperature, hygroscopic and with an ammonia odor. It is miscible with water, ethanol, acetone, etc., and slightly soluble in benzene, ether, carbon tetrachloride, acetaldehyde, and chloroform. It reacts violently with strong acids such as sulfuric acid, nitric acid, and hydrochloric acid. It reacts with inorganic and organic acids to form esters; it is flammable and is dangerous to burn when exposed to high temperatures, open flames, or in contact with oxidants.
Package: Packaged in plastic barrels or new iron barrels, each barrel weighs (200±0.5)kg or (180±0.5)kg respectively. The average net weight of each barrel of each batch of products reaches 200kg or 180kg
Storage: Keep sealed in a cool, ventilated, dry warehouse, fireproof and moisture-proof. Can be stored in glass, stainless steel or aluminum containers filled with nitrogen. It is corrosive to copper or copper alloys and should not be used as a container.
Safety Protection: Low toxicity, ETA vapor has a strong irritating effect on the eyes and respiratory tract of the human body, and will produce serious toxic reactions if ingested. Protection should be taken during the operation. If it accidentally contacts the skin or eyes, rinse with running water immediately.
About Us: With over many years as a certified Ethanolamine manufacturer, we combine innovation with stringent production standards to deliver high-performance product.

Colamine Applications
- Ethanolamine is used to remove acidic gases from natural gas and petroleum gas, and to manufacture non-ionic detergents, emulsifiers, etc.
- Used as a gas chromatography stationary liquid and solvent
- ETA is an intermediate for the preparation of carbamate insecticide fenthiocarb, and is also widely used as a purification liquid for extracting acidic components from various gases (such as natural gas). It is also an intermediate for emulsifiers, and is used in the textile industry as an antistatic agent, mothproofing agent, and cleaning agent.
- GB 2760-96 stipulates that it is a processing aid for the food industry that is allowed to be used.
- Monoethanolamine is mainly used as a plasticizer, vulcanizer, accelerator and foaming agent for synthetic resins and rubbers, as well as an intermediate for pesticides, medicines and dyes. It is also a raw material for synthetic detergents, cosmetics emulsifiers, etc. The textile industry uses it as a whitening agent, antistatic agent, mothproofing agent, and detergent for printing and dyeing. It can also be used as a carbon dioxide absorber, ink additive, and petroleum additive.
- Solvent: Organic synthesis, removing carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide from gases. Gas chromatography stationary phase, used for separation of low-carbon alcohols, pyridine and its derivatives.
