Properties: When HCl is dissolved in alkali solution, it reacts with the alkali solution to neutralize it. Dilute HCl can dissolve many metals to generate metal chlorides and hydrogen. Copper, silver, gold and other metals with a lower activity than hydrogen cannot react with dilute HCl, but copper can slowly dissolve in the presence of air. HCl has reducing properties and can react with some strong oxidants to release chlorine.
Storage: Store in a cool, well ventilated warehouse. Storage temperature is less than 30ºC, and the relative humidity is less than 85%. Keep the container sealed. Keep separate from alkalis, amines, alkali metal and flammable or combustible substance and be careful not to place them together. The leakage emergency treatment facility and appropriate collecting containers should be available in the storage area.
