Appearance: Colorless transparent liquid with pungent odor.
Water Solubility: Soluble in water, miscible with alcohol, ether and other organic solvents.
Properties: Colorless clear liquid, its vapor can form explosive mixture with air; generates blue flame when burning; can be miscible with organic solvents such as water, ethanol, ether, benzene, ketones, etc. Can cause combustion and explosion when exposed to open flames and high heat; can react violently with oxidants; if exposed to high heat, the internal pressure of the container increases, there is a risk of cracking and explosion; there is no bright flame when burning; can accumulate static electricity and ignite its vapor.

Storage: Storage precautions Store in a cool and well-ventilated special warehouse room, away from fire and heat sources. The storage temperature should not exceed 37℃, keep the container sealed. It should be stored separately from oxidizers, acids, alkali metals, etc., and should not be mixed. Explosion-proof lighting and ventilation facilities are adopted. Do not use mechanical equipment and tools that are prone to spark. The storage area should be equipped with leak emergency treatment equipment and suitable containment materials.

Its applications extend to the creation of vital agrochemicals (insecticides, acaricides) and pharmaceuticals (sulfonamides, comycin). Furthermore, it is integral to synthesizing dimethyl terephthalate, methyl methacrylate, and methyl acrylate.
