Solubility: Slightly soluble in water, can be miscible in ethanol, ether and other organic solvents.
Production: A common industrial method is carbonylation. This reaction polymerizes a carbon monoxide substrate. To produce it, methanol and acetic acid are heated together in the presence of sulfuric acid. Another production method involves esterification of methanol and acetic acid in the presence of a strong acid. Sulfuric acid is also a common catalyst in this reaction.

Storage: Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat. The temperature of the reservoir should not exceed 30 ℃. Keep the container sealed. It should be stored separately from oxidants, acids and bases, and should not be mixed. Explosion-proof lighting and ventilation facilities are adopted. Do not use mechanical equipment and tools that are prone to spark. The storage area should be equipped with leak emergency treatment equipment and suitable containment materials.
