Titanium Dioxide

Titanium Dioxide CAS 13463-67-7

Sinochem is a major Titanium Dioxide supplier. Meanwhile, our firm staffs a group of experts devoted to your development of China Titanium Dioxide.

Titanium Oxide, a pivotal inorganic pigment, is synthesized via either the sulfate or chloride process. Its low relative density among common white pigments, coupled with its high surface area to mass ratio, translates to superior pigment volume and opacity per unit weight.

  • Excellent whiteness
  • High luminance value
  • Small color difference
  • Strong tint reducing power
  • Uniform particle size distribution

 Titanium Dioxide Description

NAME: Titanium Dioxide (TiO2)

Synonyms: Titanium Oxide / Titanium(IV) oxide / Rutile / Anatase

Molecular Formula: TiO2

Molecular weight: 79.87

CAS NO.: 13463-67-7

Density: 4.26 g/mL at 25 °C(lit.)

Boiling point: 2900 °C

Melting point: 1840 °C

flashing point: 2500-3000ºC

Appearance: White amorphous powder

Solubility: Insoluble

Properties: White amorphous powder. There are three variants of titanium Oxide in nature: rutile, anatase and brookite. Titanium Oxide is yellow when slightly heated and brown when strongly heated. It is insoluble in water, hydrochloric acid or nitric acid, but soluble in concentrated sulfuric acid, hydrofluoric acid, etc. In addition, at high temperatures, it can be reduced to low-valent titanium compounds by hydrogen, carbon, metallic sodium, etc., or react with carbon disulfide to form titanium disulfide.

Storage: Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse. Pack tightly. Do not store or transport with acids.

Safety Protection: Titanium Oxide is not significantly toxic under normal use conditions and is recognized by the FDA as safe for use in food and medicine. During production and handling, be careful to avoid inhaling dust and contact with skin and eyes. Follow relevant safety operating procedures, ensure good ventilation, and wear personal protective equipment.

About Us: With over many years as a certified Titanium Dioxide manufacturer, we combine innovation with stringent production standards to deliver high-performance product.

Titanium oxide Applications

1. Titanium and its alloys have excellent properties such as high strength, low density, corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, low temperature resistance, non-toxicity, and special functions such as gas absorption and superconductivity. Therefore, they are widely used in aviation, chemical industry, light industry, navigation, medical treatment, national defense and marine resource development.

2. More than 90% of the world’s titanium minerals are used to produce titanium dioxide white pigment, and this product is increasingly used in paint, rubber, plastic, papermaking and other industries.

3. Rutile is also the main mineral raw material for refining titanium, used to make titanium dioxide, sponge titanium, titanium alloy, artificial rutile, titanium tetrachloride, titanium oxysulfate, potassium fluorotitanate, aluminum titanium chloride, etc.

4. It is also used in the pharmaceutical industry, capacitor dielectrics, high-temperature alloys, high-temperature sponge titanium manufacturing and as spectral analysis reagents, high-purity titanium salt preparations, pigments, polyethylene colorants, abrasives, used to make titanium dioxide, sponge titanium, titanium alloy, artificial rutile, titanium tetrachloride, titanium oxysulfate, potassium fluorotitanate, aluminum titanium chloride, etc.

5. It is also used in telecommunications equipment, metallurgy, printing, dyeing, enamel and other departments, and is widely used in aviation, chemical industry, light industry, navigation, medical treatment, national defense and marine resource development and other fields.
